Your path to recovery begins here
Occupational therapy as the name implies is based around occupation, or all of the tasks that you do during your day. These tasks involve getting ready, caring for your child, or your hobbies. With pain or injuries, these tasks can become difficult making those once easy occupations a grueling process. Occupational therapists understand how your pain or injury can affect you not only physically but mentally as well. In a collaborative process, you and your therapist will work together to create an effective treatment program that will incorporate physical rehabilitation, exercises, modalities, and daily activities to return you to being independent. Northern Edge Physical Therapy offers client-centered specialized programs to help you achieve maximal recovery in the shortest time.

Its holistic approach addresses not only movement issues but also takes into account non-motor symptoms including emotional changes and cognitive changes. It helps people “recalibrate” to recognize when their movements are smaller or slower than they think. Its sessions are based on the most effective, evidence-based strategies for learning and neuroplasticity (the brain’s ability to change). It’s designed to help people apply what they learn in treatment sessions to more comfortable, confident movements in everyday life beyond treatment sessions.
