Shelly is the newest addition to the NEPT team. After completing her undergraduate degree in psychology at Arizona State, she returned home to Alaska, where she worked on the administrative side of healthcare. She quickly realized that she wanted to be a hands-on practitioner. This is where she found the field of occupational therapy and returned to school to complete her doctorate in occupational therapy from Creighton University. Living in Alaska, she understands that independence is an important factor to living in this environment. Everyone has different abilities and passions, and she is excited to be able to help our community return to what they love to do.
During their spare time, Shelly and her husband are usually building their cabin. A future goal for them is to build accessible homes that allow people to remain in their homes as they age. In the winter time you’ll find Shelly cross-country skiing, Nordic ice skating, or snowmachining with her 1982 Ski-doo Mirage. When the sun decides to shine, you’ll find her biking or paddleboarding with her dogs and husband.
Visit Shelly for all of your occupational therapy needs. She plans to specialize in hand therapy, low vision, and women’s pelvic health.
